After unintentionally bringing people to tears with my last mashup, “When I’m Hurt“, I didn’t think it would be a good idea to do that again. In the process of testing and rejecting potential mashup ideas, I considered mashing up a Linkin Park song with one by Pitbull called “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)“. I couldn’t find an instrumental for the latter song, but then I remembered that Pitbull blatantly sampled a dance song for his own hit. As soon as I found it, everything else fell into place.
This isn’t my most creative moment, but that’s okay. My mashups don’t need to sound like “Latin Uprising” every time. 🙂
